Most international students have studied British English in their home countries and come to the United States wondering about all of the differences they encounter, especially in vocabulary, spelling, but even grammar.  English is English, right?  Not quite.  This workshop for English language learners or curious language lovers will explore differences between British English and American English as well as some of the historical reasons behind the changes.

How to make a Writing Center Appointment

in Four Easy Steps:

(scroll down to the bottom of the screen for more detailed instructions)

STEP ONE

Log in, or new users click: Register for an account.

STEP TWO

Choose ANY campus or online from the drop-down menu.  The SOC on-campus schedule is the default, so you'll need to switch to make an appointment at another location.  

STEP THREE

Find the day and time you want. Red boxes are already booked. Click any white box to make your appointment.

STEP FOUR

A new window will open. Fill in the information. Then, click the blue box at the bottom: CREATE APPOINTMENT.

When it’s time for your appointment:

On campus:  Show up to the appropriate campus writing center location.

Online: Click the red box on your day and time.  A new window will open. Click: START OR JOIN ONLINE CONSULTATION
